This was a lot of fun. The Little Mermaid was always one of my favorite Disney movies so it was interesting to see it mirrored here but in a darker twisted way. I do think I slumped in the middle, I just felt like their journey to the Cloud Mountain took forever, but once they started making actual progress there I managed to claw my way out.
I started off liking Elian’s character a lot more but after a few Lira chapters I felt like I started getting to know her and found myself really enjoying her as well. I liked her relationship with her cousin (how the Sea Queen tried to squash it đŸ˜), Elian’s relationship with his crew, and Lira and Madrid’s blossoming friendship (omg I wanted more scenes of them). And Elian and Lira had a fun bickering relationship with something more stirring underneath.
