This book opens to a dark world. I was shocked and hesitant to continue, wondering if this book would be too heavy for me to enjoy. I’m glad I pushed through.
I found in it a unique world and a riveting story. A nearly seamless enemies to lovers balanced perfectly in a fantasy adventure. I have some icks about miscommunication and lying by omission tropes that knock the story down by half a star, but wow what a book!
