Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
5.0
Salt to the Sea was actually one of the first books I ever read in English (English is not my native language if you didn't know) and even though I have lived in the United States for almost ten years now, I will never forget how incredible this read was.
I was going through book recommendations on goodreads and stumbled upon this title and the memory of it came back to me like thunder.
I realized I had never reviewed it so here we go. Incredible, memorable and filled with complex characters. An emotional, heartbreaking tale inspired by the people who survived Nazi Germany.
A fantastic historical fiction novel that I would recommend for teenagers, adults and everyone really who's a bit of a history buff and in love with deep character development.
