The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain

5.0

Caroline receives news that her unborn baby girl has a heart defect and is devastated. It's 1970 and there seems to be little that can be done. Hunter, her brother-in-law, tell hers that perhaps there is. He appeared in their lives just a few years ago and has a mysterious past. Hunter tells Caroline that something can be done for her baby's heart, but it is something that will require strength and courage that Caroline never knew existed. And it's all for the love of her unborn child.

THE DREAM DAUGHTER is a novel I saw on Bookstagram with glowing reviews and couldn't help but seek it out. I am so glad that I did because it is such a beautifully written novel that highlights what a mother is willing to do for the well-being of her child.

I was pleasantly surprised by the many twists and turns that occurred within these pages, most that I truly didn't see coming. THE DREAM DAUGHTER is an emotionally charged read with such important and impactful choices to be made. It's a really unique and thought-provoking read.

Caroline is a strong, courageous, and brave main character. I loved each character encountered and the role they played within Caroline's life and this story. The ending was utterly perfect, making this an easy top read for me in 2024.
