One of the things I loved about this book was the wonderful and extensive bibliography, extra resources, and other reference information included after the story ends. The book is fantastic, and I immediately wanted to learn more about Ravensbrück, women in concentration camps, and the rebellion at Auschwitz, and instead of heading out on my own to start finding sources I had a handy list right in front of me. It was perfect!

The story itself was also beautifully written, though I enjoyed Code Name Verity a bit more. Rose's story is almost harder to read than Julie and Maddie's because I kept worrying and worrying and WORRYING about what would come next. It was also more detailed about the gruesome realities of wartime violence, which makes some parts truly difficult to get through. I think it tells a story that anyone would be interested to read though, and it does it with poetry, mystery, and lovely language.
