an atmospheric read. i enjoyed the world that was crafted and fairytale elements but i didn't connect with the characters.  i like the idea of history being shaped by how stories are told and who gets to tell them. i do wish we got more of how our main character developed and grew as they were older, especially if we are reading her direct telling of her story.
