Best Day Ever by Kaira Rouda
5.0
From the outside, Paul Strom is the perfect husband. He works so his wife doesn't have to, has two handsome sons, a house in the suburbs, a lake house. He's the perfect man. At least, that's what he wants you to believe. Everything changes when he and his wife Mia head up to their lake house for a weekend getaway. Both Paul and Mia are expecting that Friday to be the best day ever, but for very different reasons.
Ooh boy. Kaira sure knows how to write awful men.
Told from Paul's POV, this book made was a brilliant dark and twisty read. It follows Paul and Mia's journey to the lake house, and we see Paul's perfectly sculpted life start falling apart bit by bit until he's pushed to desperation. It was such a great read that I read it all in one day because I couldn't stop. I really didn't want to sleep before I knew how it ended.
I can't wait to start the sequel.
