An enjoyable series so far, with the overarching message being that the real magic is the friends that we make along the way. Definitely written for kids, but a bit darker than the first book. My only real complaint is that it feels like parts are very rushed at times, which leaves some parts unexplained or not as fleshed out as they could be.
