First things first, I'd like to mention that I prefer this non cartoon art cover more than the one with a cartoon character cover. It's very appealing to me.
Alright, on to the review, I would say tha this is quite an okay read for me even after that email that kind of made me feel constricting and more like 'reading this and liking it is a must'. And considering this was my first book of the author's, it was quite disheartening. The author apologised, tho so I guess it's now fine?
Anyway, the writing is quite good, I admit, there's potential and it's quite appealing as well. The concept or the introductory chapters held promise, so I was really looking forward to it.
However, as the strong progress, reading this felt really tiring because I believe it could have been shorter than what it was. Adding the miscommunication plot device that made it bothersome for me or more like the execution of this part was something I didn't like.
The pairing had chemistry, and was really hoping for their romance to be even better, and I was quite pleased that Haelyn had more spine however the MMC didn't really grovel that long so I didn't like that.
Overall, this could have been better. Thank you, author, for the e-arc opportunity.
