Keiko, a Japanese woman with autism, lives and breathes for her job in a convenience store. She’s under immense pressure to be ‘normal’ and have a career or marriage, but when she attempts to conform she loses motivation to self-care.

The book gives fascinating insights into the internal dialogue of a woman with autism and into Japanese cultural norms.
