I've Got My Eyes on You by Mary Higgins Clark
3.0
3.5 stars.
I enjoy.enjoy.enjoy the tensions Clark throw in the beginnings.
I definitely LOVE the short-paged chapters. it encourages me to keep munching the story.
I know it has neat word-building, absolutely chop off the unnecessary things to talk, and I partly enjoy it sometimes because I gain solemn focus to follow the story and characters.
I'm not used with Clark's super clean, straighforward, and no elaborated words; like she goes a then she does b and she says c. next chapter, he plays d, he talks e and he wish f. repeat. partly, I wish Clark can add more, especially about Aline's parts and emotions (!!!) because I think she's supposed to be the main character from the synopsis along with Detective Mike.
I'm kinda sad that the tensions drop in the middle... after 30-40% progress I get bored for a while. thankfully in 60% and up, it gains momentums. I just go on with the flow. no more heart-gasping moments that tackle me out of nowhere like Jamie's or Alan's beginning parts. I kinda miss them, lol.
so yeah, this is an okay read.
