Solitary Sinners by Elle Thorpe
2.0
I’m disappointed with this one. I wanted to enjoy it but god I found it so hard to stick with it and finish it.
I found Mae irritating in this book and the way the reacted to big revelations or traumatic events was painful. Dealing with grief and trauma over your murdered wife? ‘I’m not her!’ So just get over it - was one of the scenarios basically.
I found a lot of the writing for the scenes repetitive and boring. There wasn’t really any substance when the characters opened up or had ‘heart-to-hearts’. They’d say something deep and then without talking about it more, there’d be another smut scene just copied and pasted from earlier.
2/5 for me. The saving graces were Vincent’s small appearances, Heath’s short scenes and Liam’s comedic relief moments.
