To the outside world Fred and Sheila Merton, a wealthy couple have a beautiful home and 3 grown up successful children - they have it all.  But when they are found brutally murdered in a suspected home invasion - their lives are slowly unravelled by the two detectives investigating the case revealing the dark secrets hidden behind those mansion doors.

A fast paced easy read, chapters are short only 4/5 pages and switches perspective quickly from each of those directly affected by their deaths and the 2 detectives as they interview the various suspects none of whom can be trusted as basically EVERYONE is lying!  I struggled to like anyone or root for anyone in the cast of characters some are more reprehensible than others but none are particularly likeable especially the deceased couple.

I did however enjoy the book whilst reading it, it did keep my interest but I found the ending a little dissatisfying maybe I am use to the Death in Paradise/Poirot method of getting everyone in a room together and then the guilty one being led away to face justice!  😂
