I have read this book several times and have listened to it twice. I'm not sure I can tell you why. At first I found the Russian Doll story-within-a-story style frustrating. Then I read it from the inside out, and then from the outside in, and then again in its intended order. Each time my appreciation for the author's mastery of style and reference grew. I won't tell you much about it. I'm not sure I'll ever decide to see the movie. I will say that I won't be surprised to find myself reading it again and looking forward to talking about it with someone similarly enchanted.
