I know a lot of my bookish friends dislike this book, but this is THE book that got me into reading. I was aged 15 and found the book is my local Tesco store. For the first month I couldn't even get past Chapter One, but I decided to push through it and I am so freaking glad that I did, because Deborah Harkness is now one of my all time favourite authors. My love for this series even got me the opportunity to meet the author and receive the third book early. I went and had the best time of my life. Deborah knew who I was. It was a total fangirl moment.
