I always enjoy reading any historical romances with people of color. I love seeing how they fit in these times. I also love that Mary wasn’t put in any position where she had to struggle in life.

The story was solid, nothing was wrong with the plot. I thought of it like a slice of life type of story, which is delightful, especially when so much is happening today. For some reason, however, I couldn’t find the chemistry between the main characters… I just didn’t believe it.
