Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

❝Women are always still standing.❞
I'm going to preface my review by saying that I am not aiming to be rude at all to the author or anything. I literally love her sm and want all of her writing on my grave. Do not eat me alive, I will snatch your kneecaps<3
Anyway,
The good:
* I really loved Karen and Simone. I felt like they were the most likable characters besides Camila and honestly kept me reading. They were just lovely people who were handed the responsibilities of other people and they were honest about the toll that takes. They had more patience than me.
* The writing was absolutely fantastic. I literally was sucked in and had some rough mornings in class because I stayed up all night reading. This is truly a beautifully written book.
* I love the lyrical creativity of the songs??? Unmatched.
* Karen and Graham were actually so electric and I was still emotionally invested in them even though I wanted to smack Grasshopper towards the end.
* Camila deserved better but she made her choices and stuck with them.
* Period, Julia.
* The interview format was immaculate. Loved it so much and the characters felt so much more real.
The not-so-good:
* Daisy and Billy were not a good couple to me. I understand that this is supposed to be a convoluted story with difficult themes and people, but they just really had me at a loss. Divinity was just out of control half the time and then I was supposed to believe she loved him and I didn't. I believe that there was impeccable chemistry but that didn't translate to this transcended connection they were supposed to have. Biscuit's whole "I'm just trying so hard" thing had me throwing my Kindle.
* Dakota was not a likable character to me, I am so sorry. I could not stand her. I think it was because she got so narcissistic and completely out of control to the point where I stopped feeling bad and was like omfg Deviled Egg get your s**t together. I wanted to scream the closer I got to the end but my father was giving me increasingly concerned looks as my grip grew even tighter on my Kindle ( Truly a rough experience for her today ).
* Do not get me started on Bookshelf. Do not.
* I hated Billy Bob.
* Now do not get me started.
All in all, Taylor Jenkins Reid is still a favorite of mine and I love her writing so much ughhhh. This book just wasn't for me and I'm so disappointed because so many people enjoyed it. Definitely nothing lower than three stars though.
