It started really well but I ended up getting bored. First of all, I hate going back and forth between past and present time, but tolerated it in this book. It did make it hard for me to connect to the characters though. The reason why the main characters broke up was a big disappointment. Elliot's explanation of this event was just laughable. I couldn't believe how he was defending himself. Elliot was totally obsessed with Macy, but it wasn't swoon-worthy. I kind of felt sad for him at a certain moment. I didn't believe in Macy and Elliot's love. They were just not a great match and I wanted the book to end when I was 75% in. I was expecting an epic love story from the ratings and reviews I read but got a lackluster one. Maybe Christina Lauren's books aren't for me.
