Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman

3.75

I liked some and thought other pieces were a bit cliche. Overall, I say the hook was just okay and tbh would not recommend it to others. It was very different from American Gods. But I enjoyed the mystery, but wish it had played more into the background of the Anasi storyline and I ended up liking the villain best of all character wise. It did not weave the magical realism the same way that American Gods did and in that vein, it was a disservice to the Anasi story. Overall meh but don’t regret reading.
