I used to love Johanna Lindsey novels as a nineteen year old. But six years later, I've realized that 'oh-so-handsome' muscled men and exquisitely beautiful and dainty little princesses are no longer my thing. I suppose there are just some books that you simply outgrow, and this recent novel of hers made me see that. It's still fairly entertaining, though, despite the cringeworthy moments.
