Brit Bennett is an excellent writer and she’s able to distill years into a relatively short novel without feeling rushed. I liked what she did with the Greek chorus of church mothers. But I hated reading this book.

I’m tired of this being the only kind of abortion story we’re told—where the weight of it is too much to name or hold. I would like to read a different kind of abortion story.
