Out of Love by Hazel Hayes

4.0

I enjoy Hazel's writing and voice a lot, always have so I really had high expectations for this book.

To be honest it dissapointed me a little bit, it started really strong for me but by chapter 3 I already hated Theo so much that I couldn't see how I would feel happy reading the begginings of the relationship, by the moving to London chapter I was feeling exasperated but I kept reading and it surprised me!

To me Out of love is about two people's journey navigating romantic love, unconditional love and self love and all of the challenges and obstacles that come along the way specially when you've been through any kind of trauma and it highlights the difference that it makes to get help or work on yourself in any way.

This story mostly made me angry and sad but by the end I'm hopeful for whatever comes next for our unnamed narrator.

I didn't love the format though, sometimes it works but mostly I don't think it's the best for the story, Hazel's writing is great though!! She's witty, funny, not over descriptive, thoughtfull and I can't wait for her next project.
