House of Secrets by Marie Robinson
i wish it the romance was drawn out but i can’t complain since it is cinderella retelling. this is just as insta love as the disney cinderella story but with smut. we have two more books but i’m already being told they are in love which is boring. the whole is three nights and two days. i get it has to do with prophecies and mates and what not but if you are going to tell me three guys are so not trusting and keep ppl at arms length then show me that. it felt like they were idiots just falling for a girl despite there being whispers of wars and betrayals.
the writing was confusing. why were they talking like that? also why was there no discretion if their feature right away? (side note i’ve noticed some authors never mention hair when the persons hair colour is brown/black which is weird) i think merlin was british? but he live new york? does he have american accent? if yes why does he say arse? brom i think is american but he talks old timey so i have no idea. the only one we know for sure is romulus (he is irish) and i find out way later he has red hair. even ella… what does she look like outside of her scars???? i was ignoring it to a degree but it got to me.
also i felt for the stepmother. what do you mean she was with ella’s father and he just ditched her??? sure she didn’t have to be a abusive fucker but when you know a child has enough power to accidentally kill her father i too would be weary. she is at fault for her behaviour but the father wasn’t that great either
the fashion… just no
the fashion… just no
i will give the next book a try but if it gets cheesy with the romance i’m out.
