How to describe this book? A waste of time? Yes. Yes that’s it. It starts off pretty racy and hot but then it just gets boring and repetitive. There was 0 chemistry between the couple and I can’t see how they could’ve fallen in love when they didn’t have a single conversation that was real until the last 60 pages. The spicy scenes were basically the same and Bennett was a boring asshole with the perfect loving family so it’s like why are you such a dick? Not that there’s any excuse to be mean and unprofessional towards your intern, but come on. The fact Chloe gave him any credit for her mentorship was sickening because where’s the proof? So he gave her an important account so did his father. They also never explain why the two hate each other that or they never gave a good reason for it. Then Chloe just randomly throws in that he was the first man to ever give her an orgasm. She never mentions it in the book until about 90% of the way through. Why can’t women have a full, satisfying sex life before they meet their “one”? As boring as Bennett is, I highly doubt he was some kind of sex god. Also, can heteros not control themselves sexually? Like I get the appeal of being so overcome with want and need over someone and them feeling the same for you, but this was borderline unhealthy. It was just the most boring white bread porn I’ve ever read.
