A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

2.0

2.5 ✨

I wanted to start this series only because lots of my booksta friends are always talking abt it, either in a positive or negative way so I’m glad I finally read this first book and I’ll continue to read the next ones to form my own opinion but so far these are my thoughts:

✨(Spoilery bits) ✨

So for the first 60% of this book I was ready to rate it 2 stars cause literally nothing was happening and it was a little boring, the only redeeming parts of it were the world building scenes like in town with the sisters or in the woods with the Suriel but other than that I couldn’t really understand what the hype was about.

The other 40% was way more interesting as we got more characters and a change of scene beneath the mountain.

Also I already know that Feysand will be endgame so I’m interested to see what happens between Feyre and Tamlin to brake them apart but also from what I’ve read both in the book and online I don’t know how I feel about Rhysand. I mean at first I liked him as a morally grey character but then he literally said that he would have raped Feyre if not for his personal interests in this "war" so yeah.....

And also was I the only one that felt like the riddle was a piece of cake? I mean when I read it the first thing that I though was that the answer was Love but whatever.

I can confidently say that this series is overhyped based on the first book and the questionable love interests but I will still continue reading it so that at least I can discuss it with other people.
