The Good Soldier: A Tale of Passion by Ford Madox Ford

3.0

I’m glad I read this book, but I was ready for it to end. The rambling nature of the narrator was entertaining, but man was this story hard to follow! I get that was the point, and Ford executed it well. Personally, this isn’t my favorite method to tell a story.
“It is a queer and fantastic world. Why can’t people have what they want? The things were all there to content everybody; yet everybody has the wrong thing. Perhaps you can make head or tail of it all; it is beyond me.”
