This book is great. I read it for a Women’s Literature class and it really helped me better understand the concept of a “white knight” or a white person trying to be the hero for a black person. when in reality Minette didn’t even want Gemma’s help or friendship. Which makes the ending interesting because I think that Gemma is unreliable as the narrator and is the one who did all of these racist acts <spoiler end>
