Wow. Just wow.
As a child whose parents were in a domestic violence relationship, this book hit close to home.
My mother left my father when I was 10, but like lily says 'As his daughter I love him, but as a Human I hate him'. That perfectly describes my feelings for him.
I will never forgive him for what he has done, but I'll never be able to cut contact either because of who he is now.
I love the way Colleen writes with such emotion yet its still so clean.
This book was a sensitive one however I don't think I'd have liked it the same without my experience. I think it was more I related to the characters then I liked the writing.
