A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

5.0

This is proabbly not Dickens' best book, but it is my favourite. A sweeping tale of revolution, ethics, justice, and mercy. But all of it is told in the most intimate of vignettes. Dickens' use of language is masterful and the actions of his characters are stunningly beautiful, hopeful, and tragic.

I couldn't live this book more, expecially as it relates injustice, and pure mercy/sacrifice, topics I find very moving. I also find the whole book's atmosphere of this tinderbox ready to trigger the powders kegs at any moment, and then suddenly exploding and rushing along sweeping the cast up in events that race along.
