This is my third (fourth?) time reading this book so I think you can tell where this review is going. The Scorpion Rules is my favourite dystopia I've ever read: I love the form of government it presents and all the questions raised by it, the prairie setting is ridiculously atmospheric, and the characters matter more to me every time. I think this reread was the first time I really understood Greta and her relationships with Da-Xia and Elian, and the way she felt her life was only just beginning as it was interrupted. Oh, and also Talis. Just everything about him. Go read this book.
