This book is great, both as a study on medieval attitudes towards morality and as a legitimately fun read. Contents include, but are not limited to:
- multiple (!) mentions of shapely men and thick thighs
- three detailed descriptions of how to butcher different animals
- and narrowly avoided adultery
I never expected a book written in 1397 to be this enjoyable, but it was nonetheless reasonably paced and lushly worded. The story itself is clever, and the author's intent shines through in amusing ways throughout. Highly recommend to anyone interested in classic fantasy or the middle ages in general.
