ira's part in this book is better than it is in the film! there's even more depth to the story since luke and sophia don't find him within the first few minutes like they do in the film, and the reminiscing is ira's subconscious — ruth — trying to keep him alive. but the reminiscing to luke and sophia in the hospital is also really sweet in the film, both the film and this book are great in their own ways

p109: these horses' names are really killing me 😂
p122: ah! I'm squealing
p170: aww that's so sweetly intense
p234: i keep misreading "demon" as "damon" and picturing damon from The Vampire Diaries every time the book talks about demon. probably not helped by the fact that I'm currently on S8 of TVD 😂
p240: something better not happen to break sophia's trust in luke!
p286: why would you hide something as important as that, sophia needs to know!! girl's tryna plan her future here
p398: FINALLY!!
they've found ira!!

p447: GIRL WHAT!!
LUKE FINALLY RODE BIG UGLY CRITTER AND USED THE PRIZE MONEY TO BUY SOPHIA AN ENGAGEMENT RING!!
AHHHHHHHH
