The audiobook was not great - music played at the start of every chapter (very distracting), there was a main narrator and another additional voice actor for all the British characters (also very distracting), and the writing style felt very boring and inexperienced (I know this is a debut novel, but there are PLENTY of first time authors who nail it on their first one). Plus, I was really put off by the way the narrator kept describing how anytime she dressed in certain clothes, she said she was "dressed like a whore" (must've said it like 3-4 times) - I thought in 2023 we were passed this weird, gross self-slut shaming way we speak about how women dress even when talking about ourselves.
