This was an incredible read. I had a hard time putting this book down to go do adulting things.
This story immediately made me think and feel the emotions I had felt during the start of the pandemic. The panic the worry the false hope. This felt heightened since we never fully get an explanation of what happened we are just in survival mode.
And then
fucking Scott shows up

I was highlighting all through out this book due to being on edge and worrying about many of the characters.
I loved how much of Anishinaabemowin was scattered through the book. From elders speaking to the little children learning I loved every bit of that. I'm very much looking forward to the second book!
