It was an easy read, nothing too complicated or thought provoking. It was endearing and warm enough. I found some of the writing to be cringey, I loved the message behind the lines but the word choice seem amateur at times. Some of the chapters were a struggle to get through but it always picked right back up. I loved Isabelle, Chance, the Crone and most of all Tanaquill but the other characters lacked some depth. The biggest missed opportunity was Tavi, her characters only personality trait was loving math and when that love was described it fell flat. I also struggled to place what era the story took place in, I won’t go into specifics about why because that could cause spoilers but the dialogue and word choice and just small details made it hard to pin point where in time we were.
Overall- I liked, not loved, this book. There were many endearing moments but I wouldn’t recommend it or continue with this author. ❤️
