I'm not a huge fan of this author but I thought I might find this era fascinating. However, I had to listen to the first chapter a few times and just couldn't really get into it and decided to just keep going and see if I can pick up on the story anyway. I must admit that while I liked some of the characters and the setting, I wasn't enamoured with the rest of it. It just felt too long and that ending just didn't make the whole 16hours of listening worth it.
