Sensible Shoes: A Story about the Spiritual Journey by Sharon Garlough Brown
5.0
I've read several non-fiction books about spiritual disciplines and spiritual formation, but this is the first fiction book I've read that deals with the subject. The author does an excellent job of weaving in the basic practices of spiritual formation through telling the story of four women who end up at a spiritual retreat together. This is the story of how God works in the lives of four very different women.
My only struggle with the book was that their flashback/childhood stories were important to what each woman became and I had a hard time sometimes remembering which childhood went with which character.
This book has encouraged me to focus more on my spiritual growth, so I highly recommend this book.
