I loved this book from the moment I saw its wonderful cover. Despite being a story about mental illness, it still manages to strike a hopeful tone and portray life in what I thought was a very authentic way.  The prose overall is unremarkable, but there are a few moments that I found downright poetic, and they made this story sparkle. It's a really good coming of age story, and sheds light on the Chinese community in Australia as well. I really enjoyed seeing Anna grow as a person and find love while also finding her place in the world.
