We see a lot more of Rayne and Hale together. You don't really get to see his billionaire, "at work" side other than being on a few phone calls in his home office, I wish Michael's would show a bit more of his business savvy/ ruthlessness that we always hear the Davenports possess.
This book isn't quite as charming as book one, but it hits all of the feels for a quick read, and marks all of the right boxes for a contemporary romance. It's not as much of a "feel good" story as book one, understandably as there are a lot higher stakes and also just more stressful events happening in the story line.
Still, it was a good follow-up to book one, and the characters stay true to themselves. Definitely will read book three when it comes out!
