This was one of the most amazing books I have ever read. The author really leads you through an emotional storyline. For example, at first, you don't know what releasing is. When it, later on, is explained, it was such a heartfelt moment.
Jonas lives a normal life. Everything in his community is the same. Same housing, 1 boy, and 1 girl per family unit, meals delivered to the houses, plain furniture in their 'dwellings' and sharing feelings at dinner plus much more. That all changes when he is selected for the position of The Receiver.
Follow Jonas through his journey as he learns about colors and music and everything that he wouldn't have known through memories.
A total 5 star book that all sci-fi lovers should read.
