Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

I went back and reread this, and I still love it. The characters are awesome, the story leaves you searching for more in following books, and the story itself is magical and enjoyable.

The magic system in this series is just ~impeccable~ I adore it. It’s so easy to imagine yourself casting a spell and feeling like you’re part of the world. There’s so many different, unique things about the magic that even seasoned Potterheads find out while rereading books. The complexity is awesome.

The friendship dynamic here is iconic. I will forever be sad the boys didn’t treat my girl, Hermione, well at the beginning, but at least in the second half they were buds. I will say, I wish there was more...friendship development between Hermione and the boys, but we definitely see that in the other six books, so I won’t complain.

Overall, this series is a must. No exceptions!
