Now this was a very fun horror story for sure! I loved how queer and complicated and messy it all was - so often queer characters are like ... good people? Aren't allowed to be in a messy, perhaps detrimental, relationships but I appreciated how complex all the dynamics were within this. Also freaky plants! Fun times all 'round!
I do wish that I was more attached to the characters, and something felt a little underwhelming about it all but I can't quite put my finger on what. I think perhaps if things were a little more ... supernatural? Explained? Questioned? I would have enjoyed it more, but this was definitely an excellent debut novel and I have great hopes for what Noah writes in the future!
