This is exactly what I needed!!!! I've been reading the worst romances lately but this one was everything I've been looking for!! I loved just about everything about this book! The leads' communication: Bomb! Smart Black successful woman in STEM: BOMB! funny as hell dialogue: B O M B! yall I was literally laughing out loud at midnight (I am old and that is really late) reading this. Also a best friend that didn't piss me off. Yall I'm actually thinking about reading her sequel??? Who would've thought?? Not me!! I usually hate sequels, Xani better not let me down. I also really liked that there was very little conflict here. It's 2021 here yall and I am here for no deeper issues being in the things that I'm consuming and this was just perfect for what I was looking for.
If I had to try and give any critiques here, it would be the absolute trash bag that was the twins' dad. Yikes. I don't like demonizing fathers, but that's just a me thing and tbh a lot of people can relate to that, I just don't like it in my fiction. I wish he was better, but that was basically the only conflict and there had to be something so I can deal with that!
Read this! I'm begging! Take it off of your TBR shelves and read this masterpiece now.
