hot take: noah slade, despite being an awful person, was the best character in the book
everyone else was so one-dimensional. at least noah was a little more? and therapy is character development? listen, i’m scraping for the bare minimum here.
i’m a sophie hater through and through. she isolated noah from his friends just so he would ask her for help in “wooing” maya. what the actual fuck?? unless i’m fundamentally misunderstanding the implications of “maya avoid boah operation: stage two.” also she adds nothing to the book. neither do jax or liam.
also, why are maya and noah so horny. there was no need. also the romance was telling without showing (although i appreciate forehead kisses, they don’t automatically equate to ‘soft romance’) and thus unfulfilling.
i wish this book focused on noah healing from trauma & becoming better friends with santiago, liam, and jax instead of a romance. maybe this is just my sign that i should go back to reading lit fic lol.
