Have to try twice to finish this book to realize the beginning is indeed a bit boring. What makes me finally finished the book is... the movie. Yeah. My friends said the movie is great, but I have to finish the book first before I watch the movie, as always. Some reviews also helped making me more curious to finish the book, it's either "OMG IT'S SO GOOD!!!" or "Bad. Very bad." and none in between. And the cover seems a bit boring, right? I mean... post -its?? BUT, after you finished the book, you'll know the meanings and it'll be more interesting.
The story of Finch and Violet is.... bittersweet. Initially I thought there was nothing special until I reached the ending. Ugh, the ending. It's... surprising. And the trip they took for the school project! It's soo interesting. I wonder how did Finch know about those places?!
For the characters, I kinda like Finch better. I love him, actually. He has a unique personality, mysterious, spontaneous, and the way he saw the world is different and weirdly seems interesting. Although, not gonna lie, it kinda scares me when he starts talking about suicide facts like it's a subject, his favorite one. But every single words that he said it's like... each has special meanings. Especially the ones he said to Violet, Ultraviolet Remarkable.

“You are all the colors in one, at full brightness.”
Not that Violet's character is bad. She's okay. But... it's kinda of... basic? I can't feel her sadness when she's sad. I guess the author talks more about Finch at the beginning and talks more about Violet at the end. The plot of the story is not that enjoyable for me personally. The beginning felt sooo long until their adventure.
Graphic: Death, Suicidal thoughts, and Suicide
