I must admit that this book disappointed me a little bit but probably this is due to the extremely high expectations I had going into it. In fact, I thought that I would have fallen in love with the characters and the plot but, even though I had fun and overall enjoyed the experience, I didn’t feel attached to any component of the story. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood to read this book or maybe I wasn’t fully concentrated on it, since I started and finished it during my week in Oxford. Nevertheless, I can appreciate many aspects of this novel, from the representation of autism spectrum disorder, to the banter between the main characters. The regency era vibes were also highly present and I really loved the fact that many scenes took place during a ball. In addition, even though the romance was the main focus, there was also a well-developed plot with an interesting mystery going on.
To sum up, I can’t say that I wished I hadn’t read it, because the journey was fun, but, on the other hand, I can’t even say that I am going to think about this book again.
