The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
2.0
My goodness this book was bad.
The only reason it has two stars is because I like the idea of the little side histories to know how the background characters’ lives turn out.
The characters were caricatures and flat. (The poet and the scientist oh no. So different.) Only Natasha changed and Daniel was basically a manic pixie dream boy. I never felt like Daniel may just become a doctor. That risk didn’t feel real in this book.
Their love story was entirely unbelievable to me. The chemistry we were told about wasn’t present in the writing. It was a good fan fiction idea turned into a mediocre book.
I'm not going to write anymore because I don't want to waste my time on it.
