I guess this was just not my cup of tea. Picoult has always been a little hit or miss for me and I think this just missed. The story was interesting enough to keep my interest, but the book seemed really long and the writing styles of the co-authors did not dovetail together well for me. It seems as if the the story was written around the decision to make a statement about the LGBTQIA+ experience, rather than writing a good story which natively included LGBTQIA+ characters – the result, to me, felt a bit “ham-fisted”.
