The cover and the blurb is what originally caught my attention. It quickly reminded me of the game Firewatch where you play as a park ranger during wildfire season and his only companion is his coworker on the Walkie Talkie. 

Other than the video game, I found the characters to not be likable. The only character I did like was Poppy. She is a hermit who lives in the park and ends up helping out our main character.
