World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks
5.0
I got this book because my friend suggested, and then the movie came out, and I thought it would be a good airplane read. I was write - it has been an interesting and pretty fast-paced read. But it wasn't just a book about zombies. Instead, it is an ingenious satirical (and sometimes not-so-satirical) exploration of politics, racism, global diplomacy, ethics, war, and tribalism. More than once I had to put the book down to stop and think for a few minutes about what the author was claiming. Definitely the measure of a good book!
